Fingerprinting (State & Federal)
Google “insurance license fingerprinting” + your county of residence to find your fingerprinting location (usually a sheriff’s office or courthouse). Instructions for setting an appointment or walking-in can usually be found on their website. Some states even allow you to be fingerprinted before taking your exam!
Applying for Your State License
1. Go to nipr.com and click “Apply for a New License”
2. Choose “Resident License,” then “Go to the Online Application”
3. Select “Individual,” then enter your name, SSN, and birthdate to register with NIPR
4. On the next page, select “Start,” then “Producer Licensing,” “Initial,” and “Resident”
5. Select your state of residence
6. Select both “Accident & Health or Sickness” AND “Life”
7. Complete the prompts to complete your application!
After applying, call NIPR customer service every weekday at 855-674-6477 to check the status of your application—being a squeaky wheel helps speed up the process!
